Her release in February 2007 Deepavali got very good reviews both for her ravishing girl-next-door looks and her acting in several difficult emotional sequences. Her next projects are Arya with Madhavan . She is also planning to shift to Telugu films. She is proud of her girl-next-door looks and wants to do character roles with a good mixture of glamour and scope for performance. She even refused to act in a Telugu film of Krishnavamsi. Her latest news is that she refused to be part of Simbu's new movie Kettavan because she thinks Simbu's image is tarnished in Tamil cinema these days and she doesn't want to associate with him

Following the success of Veyyil,Bharath and bhavana has been paired as love birds once again in Koodal Nagar. Shooting for this film has been progressing steadily. Working together for extended period has apparently drawn Bharath to the beautiful Bhavna. As a prelude to Valentines Day, this young hero is reported to have sent numerous lovey-dovey SMS to Bhavna.
Initially, the Malabar girl is reported to have taken the matter on a lighter and friendlier note and did not respond. Misunderstanding this as a positive response, Bharath continued sending SMS of similar types. This time around, not withstanding any further initiative from him, Bhavana had reportedly brought the matter to her managers attention. He had also advised her to be calm and restrained for some more time.

Bhavana's much delayed 'Arya' with Madhavan is making its way to the theatres now. Tamil actress Bhavana seems to have caught the eye of the filmmakers in Tollywood. Sources say that even before the release of her Tollywood debut Ontari, the actress has been flooded with offers and has filmmakers queuing up for her dates. She is playing the lead opposite Gopichand in Ontari , which is expected to release soon. Interestingly the actress is most scared of heroine centric films. "I agree that it is all exciting to hear about heroine oriented roles, but they comes laden with risks. If I accept such a role, some Tom, Dick or Harry will be made to costar with me as hero and that could be the kiss of death for the film. If the venture has a top notch actor, director or production house, then it's a different ball game," says Bhavana. Considering the fate of some of the recent heroine-centric films Bhavana seems to be right on the cue.
